It is owned and run personally by Alexander Thornhill, a fully qualified Funeral Director and Embalmer with over 20 years of experience offering Funeral Services across Newcastle upon Tyne.

It is always difficult to describe such a heartbreaking, painful experience such as organising a funeral for a deeply loved one as 'positive'. However, I can honestly say Alex lightened the huge weight I was carrying, from my initial enquiry right through to personally returning my Dads ashes and wedding ring. Alex was fantastic. He was not only extremely kind and sensitive but he was also very professional. He responded to our changing circumstances and went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed. He came out to our house within a hour or two of us contacting him and kept in regular touch with us throughout a long 7 week wait between my Dad dying and the funeral. He arranged everything and nothing was too much trouble. It’s hard losing someone close to you, but I imagine organising the funeral, with all the complexity that it entails, is the straw that breaks the camels back. Would absolutely recommend Thornhill Funeral Services for a funeral director. They were extremely helpful when it came to organising things as well as putting us in contact with other businesses such as florists and caterers etc. They were very motivated into helping us create the service that we really wanted to have and we needn't worry about feeling like a burden or that we were asking too much. Very responsive to communications and always helpful when offering their services and was always near the phone if you had any questions.
